The outlook for the weekend is mainly settled and dry thanks to a large high moving in from the Tasman Sea says WeatherWatch.co.nz.
The high should bring mostly sunny, calm, weather to the North Island while South Islanders should see more changeable weather.
A weak cold front will see a southerly change for a while with a few showers, however most places shouldn’t be too cold.
WeatherWatch.co.nz predicts a number of main centres on Saturday and Sunday will reach the lower, possibly mid, 20s.
Next week sees more dry weather for northern New Zealand however WeatherWatch.co.nz is still monitoring a possible sub-tropical low which is likely to pass through the Tasman Sea next week. The high from this weekend will be exiting to the east and may block the low from delivering much needed rain over northern regions. One to watch.
