A big tongue of heat coming across from Australia brings some warm to hot temperatures for parts of New Zealand on Thursday and Friday.
Here is a temperature map for 4pm on Thursday.
High’s across the North Island are mostly sticking in the high teens or low 20’s bracket, mid teens for the eastern North Island. For the South Island high’s will reach into the low to mid 20’s for many areas especially away from the coast inland. Inland Southland and Otago get the warmest temperatures of all reaching into the high 20’s for some isolated spots.
Then we move along to Friday, a temperature map here for 4pm:
Warm temperatures still hanging around for the South Island, more so inland. And this time the North Island gets a tad warmer also, mainly inland parts of the upper North Island where high’s are looking to peak in the low to mid 20’s.
Auckland most likely will not escape the high teens over the next few days although you never know some isolated spots may reach into the low 20’s where winds are light.
