Settled for much of New Zealand today however a low brings a few areas of heavy rain to parts of Auckland / Northland. An easing of conditions for the far north on Thursday meanwhile a northerly airflow builds over the South Island. Friday sees the arrival of a new low moving in from the Tasman although it is on the weaker side.
Wednesday
White – A frosty start for the inner South and North Island’s, coldest in the south.
Blue – A low brings some heavy rain to northern parts of Auckland / Northland and the Coromandel during the day.
Purple – Winds gusty from the southeast.
Thursday
White – Frosty for the inner South Island once again, no frosts this time for the North Island.
Blue – Any remaining heavy rain eases in the morning for Auckland. Some heavy rain develops overnight for Fiordland.
Purple – Northerly winds pick up overnight through Cook Strait with winds becoming strong at times, strong to gale northeasterly winds develop overnight about coastal Fiordland.
Friday
Blue – Some heavy rain for the West Coast of the South Island as a low in the Tasman Sea directs a northerly airflow onto the western side of the South Island.
