Heat and rain – #WeatherRisks and your Main Centre Outlook on Thursday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

While there aren’t too many real weather risks on Thursday, there is some unstable weather on the way from the Pacific and the Tasman to watch out for.

Overnight northeasterlies become brisk or perhaps strong about Northland, and some heavy rain may move in overnight too.

During the day on Thursday the only other potential risk is the heat, where eastern parts of the South Island will likely get into the low 30s – a potential scorcher on the way!

Main Centres

Auckland

Mostly fine, though cloud sticks around for much of the day, along with some breezy notheast winds – but a high in the mid to late 20s will keep Aucklanders smiling for the most part.

Wellington

Morning cloud cover breaks away, with temperatures getting into the 20s, along with some brisk northerlies at times.

Christchurch

A clear, sunny scorcher of a day in the works, with the mercury set to break into the early 30s, along with some developing high cloud later in the day.
