A study has found an extract from grape seeds used to make Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc has significant benefits which combat UV skin damage.
AgResearch senior scientist, Dr Jolon Dyer, says the research team was surprised by how effective grape seed extracts are at reducing the level of oxidation in skin proteins. He says it’s a significant discovery which is likely to have a huge benefit for increasing concerns around UV rays.
The study was commissioned by New Zealand Extracts Ltd, which says the results provide powerful justification for the inclusion of its grape seed extract in skin care formulations.
