Auckland -2? The official temperatures at the airport show +3. It might have been -2 in a sleepy hollow in the Auckland district somewhere but -2 isn’t representative of the town itself.

Hi there – a weather station at Auckland airport – surrounded by warmer sea waters – doesn’t reflect the many inland parts of the city. The majority of Aucklanders live inland and not right on the coast like that weather station. -2 was recorded in a number of populated suburbs in Auckland today by private and public stations, especially South Auckland and West Auckland. And “officially” (or Govt owned) Auckland also reached -2 according to MetService. The low is just that – the lowest temp in the region.
