An anticyclone in the Tasman Sea pushes a ridge over the country tonight bringing clear skies and frosty conditions to many. Northern Hawkes Bay and Gisborne will catch the odd shower continuing through the night however.

Northland
Mainly clear skies tonight with light winds.
Lows tonight: 4-6

Auckland
Clear skies tonight with light winds.
Low tonight: 2-3

Bay Of Plenty, Waikato & Central North Island
Mainly clear skies tonight with light winds tending southerly or southeast. Some cloud about southern parts of the Central North Island with the chance of a shower clearing during this evening. Coldest temperatures overnight about inland sheltered areas.
Lows tonight: -3-2

Eastern North Island
Showers clear this evening however persist about northern Hawkes Bay and Gisborne, southwest winds.
Lows tonight: 2-4

Western North Island
Mainly clear skies tonight with light winds, some cloud about southern Taranaki however with the odd shower clearing this evening.
Lows tonight: 2-3

Wellington
The odd shower clears this evening with southerly winds easing, clear spells increase overnight.
Lows tonight: 4-5

Canterbury, Marlborough & Nelson
Clear skies tonight with light winds, frosty especially about some inland areas.
Lows tonight: -4- -1

West Coast
Cloudy periods, there may be a brief light shower at times otherwise mainly dry with light winds.
Lows tonight: 2-3

Southland & Otago
Mainly clear skies tonight with light winds and frosty conditions, especially inland. There may be some evening cloud about coastal Otago which will clear.
Lows tonight: -6-1
