Latest satellite images are showing what the forecasters are predicting – a stormy system quickly forming off Australia’s east coast.
Throughout Thursday the clouds have quickly formed right along the Australian coast from just off Tasmania right up to Queensland.
A low is going to drift further out into the Tasman Sea during Friday, helping fuel a large system that could have quite an impact on New Zealand across the weekend and into Monday.
WeatherWatch.co.nz will have extensive coverage of the approaching system across the weekend.
