A ridge of high pressure pushes in over New Zealand for a time today, showers about western regions mostly clearing this afternoon but remaining for Fiordland where rain develops this evening then becoming heavy. Dry and mainly sunny in the east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning showers then drying up in the afternoon with increasing sunny areas, breezy southwesterlies.

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Morning cloud, risk of a shower then becoming mostly sunny as northwesterlies tend westerly in the afternoon.

Eastern North Island
Sunny, light winds in the morning may tend southwest in the afternoon.

Wellington
Mostly sunny, breezy northwesterlies ease in the afternoon.

Marlborough & Nelson
Sunny with breezy westerly quarter winds, easing from afternoon.
