A large high covers New Zealand today bringing mainly settled weather.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Morning cloud then mostly sunny for Northland and Auckland, a few morning showers in the east from Coromandel through to eastern Northland clear. Waikato and Bay Of Plenty is mainly sunny from the get go, later in the evening cloud moves back into eastern areas from Bay Of Plenty through to eastern Northland. East to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 23-26

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly sunny with southeasterly winds, tending more onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 20-25

Eastern North Island

Morning cloud then mostly sunny, southerlies tend to the east late afternoon.
Highs: 20-22

Wellington

Morning cloud then mostly sunny, southerlies die later in the day.
Highs: 19-23

Marlborough & Nelson

Morning cloud, perhaps some morning drizzle for Marlborough then sunny spells increase from afternoon. Light winds tend onshore in the afternoon.
Highs: 20-24

Canterbury

Morning cloud breaks to afternoon sun and high cloud, easterlies pick up a bit in the afternoon across the plains.
Highs: 19-27

West Coast

Some mid level cloud for North Westland and Buller with the risk of a shower, breaking to afternoon sunny spells for Buller. Cloud moves into South Westland late afternoon, beforehand expect sun / high cloud. Light winds.
Highs: 20-23

Southland & Otago
Mostly sunny with a touch of high cloud, a chilly start inland. Light winds tend to the south in the afternoon apart from coastal Otago where winds tend easterly.
Highs: 19-27
