Anticyclonic weather is mostly in control today however there is plenty of cloud about. Then sunniest weather looks to be on the east coast of the North Island.
Auckland & Northland
Chance of a morning drizzle patch then expect cloudy spells with a few sunny breaks pushing through in the afternoon. Light southwesterly winds. Overnight or towards dawn on Saturday a few fog patches could develop.

Mostly sunny after morning cloud clears, light southwesterlies.

Central North Island & Waikato
Cloudy in the morning with the chance of a drizzle patch, a few sunny spells may break through in the afternoon otherwise remaining mostl cloudy. Light west to southwest winds.

Eastern North Island
Chance of some early morning cloud, otherwise expect a mostly sunny day with pleasent temperatures and light winds.

Western North Island
Mainly cloudy skies with the odd drizzle patch at times, mainly morning. Light west to northwesterly breezes.

Wellington
Cloudy spells and the odd sunny break at times, northerly breezes.

Marlborough & Nelson
Chance of some morning cloud (mainly about Marlborough) then mostly sunny weather develops by mid to late morning. Light winds.

Could be an early drizzle patch then expect cloudy periods with light northeasterlies. A few sunny breaks may make their way through during the afternoon.

Any early morning rain clears, sunny spells develop towards midday then expect a mostly sunny afternoon. Light winds tend northerly.
