Friday’s national forecast

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It should be a lovely day for most of New Zealand today.

Hawkes Bay and Gisborne will likely be a bit showery today thanks to an easterly flow with a bit of a southerly twist. These areas will likely see highs a bit cooler than the rest of the North Island.  Temperatures should top out in the upper teens.

For the rest of the NI, look for plenty of sunshine today.  There will be a few clouds mixed in from time to time. Easterlies will be a bit breezy, but not as bad as the last few days.  Highs will be in the mid 20’s.

For the South Island, pretty much the same thing.  Look for a dry day with plenty of sunshine and breezy easterlies. Highs are likely to be in the high teens for most of the eastern coastline from Kaikoura to Dunedin but feel cool thanks largely to that crisp wind coming in off the Pacific.  However, inland sections of Southland, Central Otago and even parts of the West Coast could see highs closer to 25 which Coasters enjoyed yesterday.

High was about 16 degrees, rain, drizzle yet again complete grey cloud. When is this weather pattern likely to change? We get one or two days sun and then about a weeks cloud, wind or rain or all three. Im even starting to look at the Australian map, just checking their temperatures. Oh I wouldnt would I, I might if this continues 🙂

Not so in Whangarei..all grey cloud with drizzle.patches.
