Mostly fine and sunny over the North Island today with some cloud at times, east to southeast breezes. North of Auckland there will be cloudy areas with the odd shower at times. Along the east coast expect areas of cloud with morning showers clearing in Gisborne, southerlies ease.

Cloudy to start in many areas over the South Island however sunny breaks then developing, expect northeasterly breezes. A few drizzle patches about Fiordland. There is the low risk of a few isolated afternoon showers about the ranges mainly in Otago and Southland but possibly further north.

15 to 16 degrees can be expected north of Waikato, also in the Bay of Plenty and about Taranaki. In Wellington and along the east coast high’s will be a cool 11 to 12 degrees in the southerly airflow there. 12 to 13 degrees can be expected along the South Island’s east coast however a bit warmer in Southland on 13 to 14 degrees. On the West Coast north of Hokitika high’s may reach the mid teen mark.
