An anticyclone brings mainly settled weather for a majority of the South Island, southeasterlies for the North Island brings heavy rain in the east and the odd shower out west.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny areas and some cloud, chance of a shower late afternoon / evening otherwise mainly dry. South to southeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Mostly cloudy with occasional showers, drier further west about Taranaki. Breezy southeasterly winds, strong at times about the coast.
Highs: 9-13

Eastern North Island
Rain with heavy falls possible, fresh southeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington
Mostly cloudy with the odd shower, fresh southeasterly winds.
Highs: 10-11

Marlborough & Nelson
Some cloud about Marlborough, mainly sunny for Nelson. Southeasterly winds, breezy about Marlborough.
Highs: 13-15

West Coast
Sunny with light winds.
Highs: 13-16

Southland & Otago
Sunny with light easterly quarter winds, breezy about coastal Otago.
Highs: 10-14
