A cool southwesterly airflow eases over the country today as a ridge of high pressure pushes in. Still a few clearing showers for some regions – more details below.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Mostly sunny, there may be a shower or two out west, perhaps even till evening, however for the most part it’s looking mainly dry. Westerly winds dying out in the evening.
Highs: 16-18

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Cloudy areas with the chance of a shower, especially early morning, then getting drier as the day goes on. Breezy westerly winds.
Highs: 13-16

Eastern North Island

Mostly sunny with breezy west to northwesterly winds, easing later in the evening.
Highs: 18-19

Wellington

Sunny areas with westerly winds, dying out in the evening.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson

Any morning cloud clears to mainly sunny weather, light west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 16-17

Canterbury

Any early coastal showers clear, then morning cloud breaks to become mostly sunny. Cool southwesterly winds die out by evening.
High: 14

West Coast

Cloudy areas with the chance of a shower or two, cloud breaking away in the evening. West to southwest winds die out by evening.
Highs: 14

Southland & Otago

Any morning cloud clears to a mainly sunny day, but cloud may not clear coastal Otago till afternoon. Light winds for most, although cool southwesterly winds about coastal Otago don’t die out till evening.
Highs: 11-13
