A ridge lies over the upper North Island today while a west to northwesterly airflow lies over the rest of the country. Cloudy areas and the chance of a shower in the west, mainly sunny out east.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas with light west to southwesterly winds. There may be a pesky light shower for some western areas. Also the Waikato could start the day with a touch of fog before clearing away. The Bay Of Plenty is mainly sunny.
Highs: 15-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny areas, chance of a light shower otherwise mainly dry. West to northwest winds.
Highs: 12-15

Eastern North Island

Sunny with light winds, tending northwest.
Highs: 17-18

Wellington

Sunny with northwesterly breezes.
High: 15

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds.
High: 15

Canterbury

Mainly sunny after any early fog clears, light winds tending northwest.
High: 15

West Coast

Cloudy areas with west to southwest winds, showers about South Westland with winds more from the northwest.
Highs: 11-13

Southland & Otago

Sunny areas and some high cloud with northwest breezes.
Highs: 13-16
