High pressure with two centres situated either side of New Zealand brings mainly settled weather to New Zealand today.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny with light southerlies tending a little more southwest in the afternoon about Auckland and Northland.
Highs: 20-22

Western North Island (including Central North Island)
Sunny with light winds, afternoon westerlies for Taranaki.
High: 19-21

Eastern North Island
Mostly sunny after morning cloud clears away, there could even be a few morning showers about Gisborne. Southerly winds tend east to northeast by evening.
Highs: 15-16

Wellington

Sunny with light northerly winds.
High: 16

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny with light winds in the morning, afternoon north to northeasterly winds.
Highs: 18-22

Canterbury

Sunny with some high cloud from afternoon. Easterly winds, fairly breezy this afternoon near the coast.
Highs: 18

West Coast

A mix of sunny areas and some cloud with west to southwesterly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Southland & Otago
Sunny areas and some high cloud during the day, westerly winds for most although winds tend east to northeast along the Otago coast.
Highs: 16-20
