A southeasterly airflow continues to lie over the country today. For the North Island this results in mainly cloudy skies in the east with patchy rain or drizzle, sunnier out west but watch for the chance of an isolated shower late afternoon / evening. The South Island is a bit more settled, drizzle and southerlies move onto the lower South Island in the afternoon however pushing up the east coast later in the day.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Sunny areas then cloud builds in the afternoon, a few isolated showers possible late afternoon / evening especially about Northland where they may be heavy. Southeasterly winds.
Highs: 16-17

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Sunny areas, conditions sunnier the further one heads westwards. Southeasterly breezes.
Highs: 14-16

Eastern North Island

Cloudy with areas of drizzle or rain, southeasterly winds.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington

Cloudy areas with the chance of a shower or two otherwise dry, breezy southeasterly winds.
High: 12

Marlborough & Nelson

Sunny areas with east to southeasterly breezes, cloud will likely be thicker in general about Marlborough especially in the morning.
Highs: 13-15

Canterbury

Early cloud breaks to sunny areas, drizzle moves into South Canterbury by evening on a southerly change then further north overnight.
High: 12

West Coast

Mainly sunny with southeasterly winds.
Highs: 15-16

Southland & Otago

Becoming cloudy in the morning about Southland with southerly breezes, patchy rain from late afternoon then clearing overnight. Otago hangs onto sunshine for a big longer with showers not moving in there till evening or overnight.
Highs: 11-13
