A cold southwesterly airflow lies over the country today, most regions can expect showers atleast for a time.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty

Showers now and then with sunny and dry breaks also, showers ease for most in the evening but overnight there may be a heavy shower move over Northland / Auckland. Winds brisk to strong from the southwest.
Highs: 14-15

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Morning showers clear away, becoming mostly sunny in the afternoon. Breezy to brisk southwesterly winds ease later.
Highs: 12-13

Eastern North Island

Areas of cloud and the odd shower, mainly very coastal. Sunny areas increase from afternoon and all showers clear in the evening. Breezy southwesterly winds die out later in the day.
Highs: 13-14

Wellington

Sunny areas with breezy southerly winds.
High: 10

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny weather with light winds tending southwest, chance of a late afternoon or evening isolated shower.
Highs: 13-14

Canterbury

A mostly sunny day with southwesterly breezes, a few isolated showers possible late afternoon / evening.
High: 13-14

West Coast

Any early showers clear then expect sunny areas, a few further showers possible in the afternoon mainly about Buller. Winds from the southwest.
Highs: 12-13

Southland & Otago

Showers about Southland and coastal Otago with snow flurries to 300m first thing then gradually lifting to 600m in the evening, showers clear overnight. Inland Otago is mainly dry but expect areas of cloud, chance of a brief shower late afternoon / evening. Cold westerly winds.
Highs: 10-11
