A high sits over the North Island today while a northwesterly airflow flows over the South Island, mainly settled weather over the country today although there may be areas of cloud for western regions.

Northland, Auckland, Waikato & Bay Of Plenty
Sunny areas and some cloud, cloud may be thicker to start the day. Westerly quarter winds for most with sea breezes for Northland.
Highs: 23-24

Western North Island (including Central North Island)

Mostly cloudy with westerly winds, the Central North Island sees long sunny
spells in the afternoon.
Highs: 20-22

Eastern North Island

Sunny weather with afternoon easterly breezes.
Highs: 22-23

Wellington

Mostly sunny with northerly winds.
High: 21

Marlborough & Nelson

Mostly sunny with morning high cloud clearing, light winds pick up from the
north in the afternoon.
High: 21-24

Canterbury

Mostly sunny with some high cloud, northeasterlies near the coast and
lighter northwesterlies inland.
Highs: 21-23

West Coast

Periods of cloud and a few sunny spells, patchy drizzle for Fiordland.
Overnight the odd light shower moves further north and rain sets in about the
Fiords. Westerly quarter winds.
Highs: 19-20

Southland & Otago

Any early rain clears Southland, otherwise expect sunny areas and high
cloud with northerly quarter winds, overnight spots of rain move in for
most.
Highs: 20-22
