Friday – Warmer north, coolish south

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Hawkes Bay took top honours today with the temperatures up as high as 25 degrees for both Napier and Hastings.

Most of the North Island felt the warmth today with the low to mid twenties almost everywehere with the exception of Levin and the Kapiti coast with 19.

It was role reversal across the Mainland with Nelson and Blenheim the only centres climbing into the low twenties whereas everywhere else remained in the teens with Gore struggling to get to 14 degrees.

Overnight looks coolish for central and southern areas and as any cloud clears it’ll certainly be crisp in the west and far south.

Main centres today

Auckland 23

Tauranga 24

Hamilton 22

Wellington 21

Christchurch 18

Dunedin 17
