A low pressure system bring showers to many northeastern parts of the North Island this evening, some of which may be heavy with thunderstorms then easing later. Winds from the northeast about the upper North Island and south or southeast further south. Southerlies lie over the South Island, areas of cloud for many with patchy showers Banks Peninsula northwards in the east.

Auckland & Northland
Showers, some heavy with the chance of a thunderstorm easing this evening and dry spells increasing overnight. About the Coromandel heavy downpours are possible this evening / overnight. North to northeasterly winds.

Bay Of Plenty

Occasional showers turning to rain later this evening / overnight,
eaterlies.
Tonight’s Low: 12

Waikato

Showers, possibly heavy with thunderstorms then easing later this evening / overnight.
Easterlies.

Central North Island

Cloudy spells with the odd isolated shower, dry spells about too. Showers
becoming a little more persistent later overnight, especially in the north / northeast. Easterlies.

Eastern North Island

Cloudy with the odd shower, east to southeast winds.

Taranaki

Showers easing overnight, southeasterlies. Showers more persistetnt about
northern parts of the region this evening.

Mainly cloudy with the odd isolated shower about this evening clearing,
southeasterly winds.

Patchy showers with fresh southerlies.

Patchy showers breaking overnight and dry spells becoming longer,
southeasterly winds.

Patchy rain or showers, southerly winds.

Cloudy with southwesterly winds, patchy showers or drizzle Banks Peninsula
northwards. Further south conditions are drier but the risk of a drizzle patch
