A ridge brings fairly settled weather to the country tonight, expect areas of cloud for most eastern regions however. A southerly airflow pushes drizzle / showers into some coastal parts north of Banks Peninsula in the east.

Mainly clear skies with southerly winds, fresh. About southern parts of the
Central North Island (Central Plateau) cloud may be a little more prominant with
the chance of a brief spit of two overnight.

Mostly cloudy with the odd shower about northern Hawkes Bay northwards,
overnight a few showers spreading to most. Southwesterly winds.
