A west to southwest airflow lies over New Zealand tonight. Mainly dry skies for eastern regions, about the lower South Island and western regions of the country expect showers.

Northland

Periods of cloud with the occasional shower clearing this evening, cold southwesterlies tend westerly overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 9-11

Auckland

Some cloud moves in this evening bringing the chance of the odd shower. Southwesterlies tend westerly overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 10

Bay Of Plenty

Clear skies with westerly winds, cloud increases overnight with the chance
of a shower.

Tonight’s Low: 6-7

Waikato & Central North Island

Clear spells this evening with cloud gradually increasing, westerly winds.
A few showers overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 3-7

Eastern North Island

Mainly clear skies, some high cloud develops about the Wairarapa and
possible Hawkes Bay. West to northwest winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 5-6

Taranaki

Periods of cloud with fresh westerly winds, the odd shower, mainly
overnight.

Tonight’s Low: 7-8

Western North Island

Mainly clear skies this evening although some cloud increases overnight,
increasing northwesterlies. The odd shower possible overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 7-8

Wellington

Mainly clear skies although expect some cloud overnight, breezy
northwesterlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 8-9

Nelson

Mainly clear skies this evening, some cloud developing overnight. West to
southwest winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 6-7

Marlborough

Clear skies this evening, some high cloud increases overnight. Breezy west
to northwest winds.

Tonight’s Low: 5

Canterbury

Some high cloud, light winds tend northwest.

Tonight’s Lows: 3-4

West Coast

Showers with westerlies freshening.

Tonight’s Low: 5

Coastal Otago

Areas of cloud with breezy westerlies.

Tonight’s Lows: 5-6

Central Otago

Occasional showers in the west and south of the district from this evening,
skies drier in the northeast. Westerly winds.

Tonight’s Lows: 1-2

Southland

Cloudy with occasional showers, brisk westerlies tend strong southwest
around dawn tomorrow. A few snow flurries to 600m overnight.

Tonight’s Lows: 4-5
