Anticyclonic weather keeps conditions fairly calm tonight although a low in the Tasman Sea will make it’s presence felt in the west of the South Island towards dawn tomorrow morning.
Northland & Auckland
Mainly cloudy skies, especially about Northland. Winds generally light. The odd shower about the greater Auckland areas easing this evening and then mostly clearing. There is the chance one or two light showers may remain.
Lows tonight: 11-12
Central North Island, Bay Of Plenty & Waikato
Fairly clear skies tonight although expect some cloud in a few areas especially towards dawn, light winds. Fog patches may form also especially about the Waikato.
Lows tonight: 1-7
Eastern North Island
Any remaining showers clear this evening, clear skies develop with southwesterlies dying out.
Lows tonight: 3-5
Wellington & Western North Island
Mainly clear skies tonight, some high cloud developing mid way through the night also. Light winds.
Lows tonight: 6-7
Marlborough & Nelson
Mainly clears skies with some high cloud developing mid way through the night. Light winds.
Lows tonight: 2-4
Canterbury
High cloud increases tonight with light northeasterlies, some rain about the foothills by dawn.
Lows tonight: 2-3
West Coast
Becoming cloudy tonight with rain developing about South Westland by dawn. Northeasterly breezes.
Lows tonight: 6-7
Southland & Otago
High cloud increasing tonight, a few spots of rain possible by dawn tomorrow for Central Otago. Remaining dry for Southland and coastal Otago.
Lows tonight: -1-4
