Mainly settled tonight under a ridge of high pressure. A few areas of cloud about the upper South Island produce a little bit of precipitation however. A low in the Tasma Sea edges closer spreading high cloud over the North Island.
Northland, Auckland, Waikato
High cloud thickens this evening and overnight, winds light tending northeast north of Auckland. Showers for Auckland northwards from morning.

Central North Island and Bay Of Plenty
Clear to start although some high cloud develops through the night, cloudy about Bay Of Plenty by dawn. Light winds. Cold inland about the Central North Island.
Lows tonight: 0-8
Eastern North Island
Mainly clear with light winds, some high cloud develops towards dawn.
Lows tonight: 2-4
Western North Island
Mainly clear with light northerlies, some cloud develops overnight about northern Taranaki and there may be a shower there by dawn.
Low tonight: 5-7
Wellington
Areas of cloud, northerly winds.
Lows tonight: 7-8
Nelson
Cloudy areas with odd drizzle patch, a spell or two of rain posible. Light winds.
Lows tonight: 6-7
Marlborough
Some cloud, clear spells too. Light winds.
Lows tonight: 4-6
Canterbury
Clear with light winds, frosty.
Lows tonight: -2-0
West Coast
Cloudy periods with the odd light shower at times. Light winds.
Lows tonight: 7-9
Southland & Otago
Areas of cloud about Southland, mainly clear elsewhere with light winds.

Thanks for your report and the 6pm reading at the airport says…
At 6 oclock the wind was Northerly 11 kph,few clouds and 6 degrees.
Must depend where you live in Invercargill 🙂

Yes it does – though looking towards the airport direction, I can’t see any cloud and the breeze is light. Didn’t get the westerlies that Metservice still have in their forecast. A link to that airport report would be appreciated…. 🙂
