Forecasters can enjoy a lighter workload

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Weather forecasters across New Zealand will be enjoying the settled weather as much as you following a very stormy September.

Long hours, constant updates and ensuring all New Zealanders were kept up to date with the latest weather news and severe weather warnings meant most forecasters had a busy past few weeks.

At MetService their meteorologists were dealing with warning after warning as stormy weather from the roaring 40s refused to go away.

WeatherWatch.co.nz congratulates them on a busy month and for dealing with the almost endless severe weather events.

October is now here and the weather has certainly calmed right down – but it may not last.  While many forecasters will be enjoying the quiet weather at the moment we all know that it’s the middle of spring and something stormy is always just on the horizon.  But for now the lighter workload will be definitely appreciated.
