Fog disrupts flights in and out of Auckland

> From the WeatherWatch archives

As exclusively predicted by WeatherWatch.co.nz back on Wednesday fog is this morning affecting flights in and out of Auckland International Airport.

Thick fog spread across the city earlier this morning and remains thick across a number of suburbs.

WeatherWatch.co.nz says the fog may linger into the early afternoon for some but the majority should see it clearing this morning.

According to Auckland International Airport’s website dozens of flights have been delayed or cancelled.

WeatherWatch.co.nz says those flying anywhere in New Zealand today should check their airline’s website as the Auckland disruptions are likely to affect flight plans elsewhere.

None is expected at this time.  However, don’t expected a settled morning and midday.  Showers will likely be hanging around during that time.

Many sirens sounded out earlier in New Lynn, off & on for over an hour, as fog hung thickly in the air.
