Heavy fog has seen flights in and out of Auckland Airport cancelled or delayed this morning.
Auckland Airport spokesman Richard Llewellyn said 10 domestic flights had been cancelled and 10 had been delayed due to low visibility.
The affected flights were generally on regional routes between Auckland and smaller centres such as Wanganui, he said.
“The planes flying those routes are less likely to have the technology to fly in low visibility conditions.”
Passengers on the affected routes were likely to have their tickets refunded or be seated on a later flight, Mr Llewellyn said.
