False Temperatures? Report them to us, we’re making positive changes!

> From the WeatherWatch archives

We’re grateful to the hundreds of New Zealanders who have personal weather stations linked in to our network, however we know a handful aren’t very reliable and we need your help to fix them!

If you spot a strange temperature in the CURRENT/NOW portion of one of our forecasts in either our website or free app please don’t hesitate to report it to us so we can remove it, or work with the owner to repair it. Either way, we’re now on a mission to remove false readings from this private network.

WeatherWatch.co.nz is also working with IBM to create a brand new way of displaying and reporting Current/Now temperatures using New Zealand’s most powerful weather super computer and new technology – but until we can get that up and running we need your help to improve the current network of PWS (Personal Weather Stations).

So, next time you see a strange temperature (too high or too low) simply write to us on social media, place a comment under a story, or email us – BUT – please make sure to let us know the specific STATION ID, and we’ll quickly action it. You can either send us a screen shot or just send us the Station ID (you can see how to find the ID on our website and app forecasts below).

Thanks for your help!
