Experts weigh in on dry weather pattern across NZ

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Farmers Weekly reporter Richard Rennie talks to all three big players, WeatherWatch, MetService and Niwa, to finally make some sense of why New Zealand has been so dry in recent years.

From our perspective at WeatherWatch it’s great to see Niwa focusing on Climate and contributing to answering the tough questions. It’s also promising to see both WeatherWatch and MetService on the same page about the drier than usual pattern.

Hopefully this story from Farmers Weekly will help explain to many of you what is going on in the Big Picture surrounding not only NZ and Australia but also out to South Africa too – as much of our weather pattern comes from the Indian Ocean and that is connected to the drier than usual weather pattern here in NZ right now.
