Eastern rains – The Big Picture on Thursday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

On Thursday we have a low and front combination moving over Northland during the day slowly moving from west to east, while the rest of the country sits under a southerly airflow.

Most eastern areas of both islands will see some (much needed) rain at some point during the day, although Hawkes Bay and Gisborne may not see anything till evening.

The West Coast of the South Island stays mostly sunny in the morning, while western parts of the North Island are mainly cloudy with showers or some rain.
Rain and showers sit over Northland – and northern parts of Auckland may see heavy showers too.
