Easterlies bring cooler weather for most

> From the WeatherWatch archives

Easterly breezes are affecting many main centres today flattening the temperatures compared to previous days.

Auckland, Northland, Coromandel and Bay of Plenty are around 21 and 22 degrees this hour, while Gisborne and Hawkes Bay are 18 to 20 degrees.

A southerly in the capital has the city on 16 degrees this hour.

It’s fairly cool on the South Island’s east coast with Christchurch on 17, Timaru 14 and Dunedin just 13.

The hottest weather is currently in Waikato where the easterly is a warm, dry, wind direction.  Hamilton currently has 27 degrees.

This sure is the best spell of weather I think I can remember in Hamilton. Looks easterly for a while yet too so more of the same until late next week. Dave
