Conditions will finally start to dry out during Friday as a low that brought considerable flooding to the Gisborne region starts to fall apart and move away.
While not all regions will start off dry it’s expected that by evening all of New Zealand should be enjoying dry weather.
Friday will see a window of sunny weather for many in the north and west of the North Island and all of the South Island.
Showers or patchy early rain are likely in southern and eastern parts of the North Island to begin with.
Saturday should be dry almost everywhere apart from heavy rain moving into the West Coast.
