Days begin to slowly lengthen

> From the WeatherWatch archives

It’s more like seconds than minutes but the days are very slowly starting to draw out but moreso at the end of the day.

The mornings are still quite dark but at sunset, the big yellow is setting in the west just a fraction later than a week ago.

It’s over 10 days since the shortest day but it doesn’t tend to become too obvious until later in the month when both the mornings and evenings start to get a little lighter.

This Sunday, in the North Island particularly, it wont be so noticeable as a band of rain and wind is expected to take hold, so the daylight hours may appear quite short anyway!

It’s still completely dark down here in Invercargill at 8.15am, quite depressing when you’re going for your first smoko.
