Sunshine over most of the country today with some high temperatures recorded in Canterbury with a string of mid to high 20s.
There were reports of lights frosts and fog first thing this morning plus a little high cloud in the south with a few spots of rain did eventuate but temperatures were generally unaffected by the cloud cover.
Tonight is looking to be a little cool again in many places, with mostly clear conditions apart from the odd cloudy spell.
Tomorrow, rain becomes a little more persistent along southern parts of the west coast of the mainland, with one or two falls spreading further east into Otago and Southland but elsewhere a sunny Thursday is likely, with just a few cloudy areas and morning fogs in some districts.
The highest temperature today went to Culverden with 29 degrees and the low of 16 was shared by Milford Sound and Manapouri.
