As predicted by WeatherWatch.co.nz yesterday northern Canterbury took the full brunt of today’s heat with a scorching 38 degrees recorded in Culverden. Hamner Springs made it to 36 as did Molesworth in inland Marlborough.
Oddly, just down the road in Christchurch it only made it to 24 degrees due to the winds being more easterly.
Today’s highest temperature was 38 at Culverden.
Today’s lowest maximum temperature was 21 at Haast.
