Last night temperatures were generally cool over much of the country and it appears we may have a repeat dose tonight.
Weatherwatch.co.nz is predicting clear skies for many areas but a lot of the daytime heat is likely to escape, seeing the thermometer give a real hint of autumn for many.
Weather analyst Richard Green says “Last night temperatures plunged to near the 5 degree mark in a few inland and east coast areas of the mainland and tonight other parts of the country are likely to have a cool night, following the passage of the second front that has crossed the country over the last 48 to 72 hours”.
Green also says” The front didn’t deliver a great deal overall as it headed north but left a pool of rather chilly air which has been felt more so in central and southern areas”.
The weekend weather at this point appears patchy at times but mostly dry and warm in the east yet again.
