A significant cool change – the same one that brought relief to Sydney on Sunday – is about to bring relief to Auckland, predicts WeatherWatch.co.nz forecasters.
A slow moving front is approaching from the Tasman Sea and behind it a much cooler south west change.
WeatherWatch.co.nz says a good example of what is moving north is to see what is happening just south of the upper North Island. As of 11:15am it was just 16 degrees in New Plymouth but 25 degrees in Auckland.
WeatherWatch.co.nz has revised Auckland’s high up to 26 or 28 degrees as the front and associated clouds take longer to arrive and clear skies to the east allow for solid heating of the city.
Cooler sou’westers will move over Auckland tonight and tomorrow morning conditions will be significantly cooler when many wake up.
However the humidity won’t be away for too long. An east to north east flow is predicted in time for the weekend with showers and humidity returning to the upper North Island.
