It’s a cold day along the North Island’s east coast with cloudy skies however conditions are finally improving after a week of stormy weather.
A large high, that brought frosts up into northern New Zealand, is this weekend pushing east, and with it, pushing last weeks storm well out into the Pacific Ocean.
Showers and strong winds are fast retreating out to the east and clear skies should move over Gisborne and Hawkes Bay tonight and into Sunday.
The sunny weather is likely to last into next week, although a low to the north east may bring cloudy skies and stronger south easters to Gisborne and East Cape.
Elsewhere another cold, frosty, night is on the way tonight followed by a sunny day tomorrow.
