Conditions easing

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A second band of heavy rain is currently spreading over northern New Zealand and should clear most regions after dark this evening.

Further south skies continue to clear along the South Island’s east coast but cloudy conditions remain over many North Island areas.

Gusty winds have eased in most places and warmer weather remains in the east of both islands with 16s and 17s from Christchurch to Gisborne.

Tomorrow will see a mainly dry day across the country with another front moving up the country from the west later in the day – reaching Auckland by evening.
