As expected Tuesday is kicking off with the opposite weather conditions to yesterday – apart from the cold.
Clear skies and light winds are affecting many regions today with most places in the single digits this morning with borderline frost conditions in a number of South Island and lower North Island regions.
The clear skies, mainly in central and western areas, will last for much of today with a few harmless clouds in the mix too.
A front will brush Southland today but isn’t expected to advance further north.
Cloud associated with that front is currently pushing into parts of south Canterbury.
Another chilly night is expected tonight with conditions very slowly warming up as the week progresses.

2 deg in Wayby with light ice on car windscreen. Expected light frost with clear sky and full moon but no.
Time for first fire not far away but not yet.

Only 6.7 here in Kerikeri at 7am, so much for the winterless North. At least the wind has stopped.
