Cloudy but mostly dry for Christmas in the Park

> From the WeatherWatch archives

The weather for tonight’s Coca Cola Christmas in the park in Auckland is looking cloudy and a bit windy – but conditions should be mostly mild and dry.  A few showers are in the Auckland region.

WeatherWatch.co.nz says overcast skies would insulate the city tonight, stopping the daytime heat from escaping – and therefore a mild evening is on the way.

However winds from the east will be a little brisk at times which could make conditions feel a little cooler.  We suggest you pack a jacket or jersey.

As for rain?  Well, WeatherWatch.co.nz says there are a few brief light showers or drizzle across the upper North Island and says there is a 30% chance of one of those showers briefly passing over Auckland Domain – otherwise the evening looks mostly dry.

Christmas in the Park – Auckland Domain – 7:30pm

  • Temp – Around 17 degrees
  • Wind – Easterlies a little brisk at times and could feel a little cool – the ‘feels like’ temp will be around 16.
  • Ground: Dry
  • Chance of a light shower or drizzle patch: 30%

Is the wind likely to ease later, as it is v. gusty now.

Hi Zelda, yes the winds should ease a little in the evening as the sun goes down, but may pick back up a little once dark.
