Cloudy and chilly – The Big Picture on Tuesday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

A high sits to the east of New Zealand, while a northeasterly airflow lies over the country – meaning a generally settled and calm day for most.

High cloud will be present in some western regions – especially the North Island’s west.
Cloud will be thicker and lower in Northland, northern Auckland, the Coromandel and perhaps the Bay of Plenty, bringing the chance of a light shower at times – otherwise it looks fairly dry.

The South Island and eastern North Island are both mainly sunny as well.
It will be a chilly start to the day for inland South Island, as well as the inner North Island to an extent – nothing too dramatic, but a sign of winter’s deepening influence.
