Cloud and clearing showers – The Big Picture on Thursday

> From the WeatherWatch archives

On Thursday we have a high centred east of the South Island offshore in the Pacific – while an east to northeasterly airflow covers New Zealand as a result.

The North Island is looking fairly cloudy all over, with easterly winds for most and patchy showers or some rain about too.
There are hints of a possible downpour or two in the late afternoon or evening for Auckland, Northland and perhaps the Waikato.

The South Island sees a few morning showers clearing from Nelson & Marlborough, then perhaps some sun in the afternoon.
Any morning cloud about Buller and Canterbury clears to mostly sunny conditions, while it stays fairly sunny elsewhere, with easterly breezes.
