Climate change toolkit for oceans developed

> From the WeatherWatch archives

NIWA has designed a climate change toolkit for our massive ocean real estate.

It’s an exclusive economic zone that will map marine life and it’s vulnerability to climate change.

NIWA spokesman Dr Philip Boyd says the seas surrounding New Zealand could warm by up to four degrees in the next century.

He says this could leave marine life increasingly vulnerable.

Dr Boyd says information collected will help determine the fluctuations in fish stocks over time.
