Some afternoon downpours around the Central North Island and hot breezes developing through some inland eastern areas.
North Island:
Light northerly quarter winds, hot inland and to the east today with heavy downpours and possible isolated thunderstorms around the Central North Island and southern ranges of the North Island.
Highs: 23 to 27
South Island:
Light northerly quarter winds, hot for many regions with mostly sunny weather.
Highs: 24 to 31
