Changeable skies approaching

> From the WeatherWatch archives

As we approach another weekend, skies are expected to change from blue to grey with more than half of the country seeing some liquid sunshine by Sunday.

Parts of the north and west of the country could see the most moisture according to Weather Analyst Richard Green. ” Easterlies are likely to build over the far north  and a frontal system in the Tasman Sea is on the way to deliver some heavy rain for West Coasters. At this stage it seems that eastern parts of the South island from Kaikoura to Otago are likely to be one of the few areas to escape any rain or showers and after a soggy 4 week period, that should be a welcome relief “.

A southerly looks likely to affect the east of the North Island by the weekends end and near gale in exposed places.
