Often the first spell of very warm weather in Christchurch and Canterbury occurs in late Spring which coincides with the Christchurch A&P show and Cup day and this year looks like no exception for show day itself on Friday.
“Apart from one or 2 coolish days this week, settled skies and warmish tempeartures are likely toward the end of the week” says weather analyst Richard Green.
” Traditionally show week is a warm one and very few show days have been affected by rain over the decades and this year it seems like Friday, (Canterbury’s public holiday) is setting up to be a very pleasant one with temperatures possibly into the mid to high 20’s” he says.
Tens of thousands of Cantabrians every November witness seeing the country come to town and this is one of the big events on the Canterbury calendar.
” The week will also have a couple of blemishes and 1 or 2 days could be a tad cool but the hot dog stand should do a good trade” says Richard Green.
Next weekend could see a few showers move in but top temperatures near the 20 degree mark.
