Bizarre addition to WeatherWatch story

> From the WeatherWatch archives

UPDATED

Yesterday WeatherWatch.co.nz ran a story about ‘Anticyclonic Gloom’ – low cloud that is trapped under large highs.

While many parts of New Zealand enjoyed a sunny day yesterday this low ‘gloomy’ cloud blanketed Auckland for much of the day.

However WeatherWatch.co.nz reader “karamu49” spotted this water vapour satellite image showing what appears to be a very gloomy sad face in the sky around and over New Zealand.

Well spotted karamu49!

And WeatherWatch.co.nz has received an updated version of the photo, sent in by Hannah Judd of The Radio Network in Auckland.
